Artful words from Val
Surf and Sounds of Summer
Love Love Love the outdoors in the summertime. I was able to do a lot of painting this spring and early summer while attending Plein Air Events and traveling to Nimrod Hall in Va mountains. Luckly no bear sightings, only nates and mosquitos. I did paint for a full week as well on the Rappahannock River where I stopped at the Yacht Club in Irvington to paint one morning early. No one went out, it was a little too windy but beautiful day. The whole area around there with White Stone, Kilmarnock included is so charming. Had some good fun and times with friends. One restaurant in a car wash in Kilmarnock was great. I am showing several new works in Suffolk Center for the Culture Arts from 7/21 with a reception from 5:30 to 7 though Aug 30 @ 10:00.
Beach Gallery in Va Beach has some great art now for Ukraine, all the funds will go to them!
Thank you for viewing my art

The last 2 weeks, I have been traveling over the Eastern Shore of Virginia to paint for the VES Land Trust in their Plein Air Event that will end with a show Nov 10th from 6-8 @ the historic Onancock school 6 College Ave, Onancock VA 23417. As I painted on the gorgeous properties that border the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay, my thoughts were that because of the efforts of the landowners and the VES Land Trust these pristine views before me will be still here 100 years from now. I am so honored to bring to the public the visual art of the beauty of this land and how important it is to be good keepers of our land!
I am also so excited to be a part of the Rockfish Valley "Old Wintergreen Day" this year to exhibit my paintings and those of other artists as well from the surrounding area. The event is a fun packed day, exhibits, speakers, food trucks, history, art and more! Oct 15th from 11-4 @ spruce Creek Park/ rt off RT 151 on Glenthorne Loop , just south of Nellysford at 1368 rockfish Valley Hwy. Their mission is to preserve the natural, historical, ecological and agricultural resources of the Rockfish Valley.
After working with both of these nonprofits, I have a happy heart while working on my art and hope to make a difference in my life to help in a small way. To have the time and friends to make these trips and work on these endeavors, I am so lucky!
